The charge of this committee was not recorded, but it's evident that the charge was to recommend a replacement for Colin Orton as Editor in Chief of Medical Physics Journal in 2004.

The committee put out a Call for Editors on 3/4/2004 that read:

CALL FOR EDITOR OF MEDICAL PHYSICS
The term of the current Editor of the Journal Medical Physics, Colin Orton, Ph.D. will end effective December 31, 2004. A selection committee is now seeking proposals from qualified individuals to become Editor. The Editor participates fully in the business management of the Journal as a voting member of the Journal Business Management Committee and maintains a working relationship with the American Institute of Physics with respect to journal production issues. Specific details are provided in the Rules of the AAPM.

Editorial staff support services at the AAPM headquarters facility will be provided to the Editor, who will retain authority over the manuscript review and publication process. Staff will ensure the timely distribution and tracking of manuscripts through these processes, the generation of correspondence and statistical data, and the maintenance of archival records, under the instruction of the Editor, and with support and local oversight of the Executive Director of the AAPM. There will be a period of planned transition between Editors and editorial operations to ensure continuity. The AAPM will provide the Editor with an honorarium and an expense budget.
